Cork International Airport Hotel Goes Green

Cork International Airport now offer a special rate which is slightly higher than usual and in return we plant a tree to help offset a person’s carbon footprint, this is done in association with the native woodland trust, some details on what they do below:

Native Woodland Trust are an Irish registered charity (CHY 14035) and a registered company in Ireland 298277.
Their aims are the preservation of Ireland’s native woodlands and the creation of new ones.
They only plant trees grown from certified seed all of which is native to Ireland.
They are a nonprofit making organization, therefore all money received goes directly into the trust and then used towards the planting of trees or towards purchasing a new site, for the creation of a new native woodland.
They have currently no paid staff all of our work is undertaken by volunteers, therefore only a very minute percentage is spent on administration i.e. postage, stationary and web hosting.
All of their funding comes directly from tree sponsorship/dedications, individual memberships, corporate memberships, corporate sponsorship, corporate donations and from people carbon offsetting.
They purchase all of their own sites they are not leased therefore can guarantee our woodlands will be there for generations to come.

We here at Cork International Airport Hotel value our environment and wish to help raise awareness and do our bit to help and with the contribution of our valued guests you too can become involved and play your part in the protection of our planet. For each guest who books to stay with us on our special Carbon Offset Rate we will plant a tree on their behalf with the Native Woodland Trust and you will then receive a certificate (emailed of course!) So help play your part, every little helps!
